LINGREN ESTATE

Formerly dba ANCIENT MOLOSSER

THOMAS LINGREN

A passion for canines began in my juvenile years.  I was fortunate to have hands on experience with world class protection dogs, pit dogs and conformation dogs. The Ancient Molosser breeding program began in 2003 with Mastiff breeds in search of the perfect protection dogs to guard my property, home and family. My desire is to procure and produce the finest estate guardians and personal protection canines in the world. Our breeding stock and progeny is tested, evaluated and culled harder than any other modern breeding program that I know of. Through our years of experience we have achieved great success in breeding both Bulldogs and Bandogs.

BULLDOGS

The historical Bulldog has gone through vast changes throughout the last 4 centuries along with its introduction to the New World. The form and function of a Bulldog has been written of and romanticized throughout history but, the perception and relevance of this great animal has certainly been of concern since the Industrial Revolution. This canine, rich in history and allure has been multi-faceted in American Culture. We have come to know the Historical Bulldog as an invaluable guardian on rural farms, the champion of both pits, and conformation rings, and most recently we experience its formation as a most excellent personal protection dog. Our Bulldogs exhibit all of the tenacity, intelligence and natural protective instinct that the historic bulldog is famous for.

BANDOGS

The term "bandogge" has roots as far back as the 16th century. It is used to describe dogs of war, fierce hounds that were "bound" by day and unchained at night to attack any intruder or predator. Many breeds in their initial foundation were in function "Bandogs", including the Bullmastiff, Cane Corso, Dogue de Bordeaux and Presa Canario. The term "Bandogge" came into modern usage again during the 20th century by John Swinford, DVM. Dr. Swinfords efforts to create a large mastiff-type fighting dog were well documented. These fierce combatants also served as large game hunters and sentry guards. Our Bandogs are bred to exhibit ferociousness and fearless engagement of man and beast, serving their masters as faithful companions and estate guardians.
